The Top 5 Syfy Movie Monsters You Wouldn’t Want To Find In Your House.

This week marks the end of my Kickstarter campaign for Slow Pokes, the sloth-horror comedy comic of the season and I couldn’t be more excited. I have loved horror movies and creature features since I was a kid and Ginger Nuts of Horror is a website that celebrates all these great monstrosities. In the spirit of Halloween, I wanted to write an article that brings light to some of the most ridiculous and fear-inspiring creatures of the dark in an article I like to call:

The Top 5 Syfy Movie Monsters You Wouldn’t Want To Find In Your House.

5. The Mansquito – Half-man, half-mosquito, all trouble. The Mansquito is a pest that I would try to squash as fast as I could, just so I could avoid getting murdered by this ridiculous ripoff of the fly. Armed with sharp claws, a long mouth to suck up blood and wide-spread wings, I would have no choice but to use my size 13 shoe to protect myself.

4.  Pirhanaconda- When you combine a Piranha with an anaconda, you get a nice dose of holy shit! If you were afraid of a piranha or an anaconda, then this thing coming out of your toilet will make you poop your pants before you even hit the bowl. Plus Pirhanaconda is just so fun to say.

3.  The Mongolian Death Worm- An elusive creature people believe exist, the Mongolian death worm are ugly creatures who are out for blood and aren’t afraid to spit venom at you. In the movie, the worms are huge and are out for blood, so luckily I don’t live in Mongolia. I would definitely scream like Ned Flanders if I ever encountered one.

2.  Sharknado- The basis for Slow Pokes. Sharks mixed with weather! What would you even do in such a situation? I would definitely head down to the cellar, lock the doors and try not to bleed so I can’t be eaten in a swirly death. Can you imagine the people being killed by The Sharknado? What will their families say? God Dang Sharknado got him!

1.Whalewolf- Still scratching my head at how this came to be. Part wolf, part killer whale. I don’t want this thing in my house or anywhere near me for that matter. What does a Whale Wolf even eat when it’s not eating people. I kind of wish it was the other way, with a whale head and a wolf body, but I definitely think there needs to be a Whale Wolf vs. Slow Pokes down the line.

Written by Steve Urena, Drawn by Juan Romera (IDW, Monkeybrain, Comics Experience) and lettered by Sean Rinehart, (Grief, The V-Card, Dead End Kids) this sloth horror-comedy is a bloody thrill ride you won’t be able to take your eyes off of.

London James is a rebellious high-school teenager ready to move on to the next phase of his life. The only thing standing in his way is a request from his best friend Karate Carlos…oh and a bio engineered sloth who is now freakishly fast and out for blood.
