THE SPECIMEN BY PETE KAHLE Debut novels are always an interesting subject matter for a reviewer, it's almost like finding a kitten trying to hunt for the first time, it knows how to do it, but it just needs a bit of refining. Which is pretty much the case with Pete Kahle's debut novel. This doorstep of a novel is a satisfying and accomplished read, however it could have done with being reigned in bit. The sheer scale and scope of this novel prevents it from being a fantastic read. Nevertheless it's still a good read, that clearly shows that Kahle has potential for great things. THE TERMINALS BY MICHAEL F. STEWART Much like the above book this is another genre spanning book, horror sci fi, young adult and dark fantasy The Terminals finds it hard to stay rooted in one genre. Which is rather a good thing as it would be a bit sad to limit this book to one set of genre readers. Chasing crimes through the afterlife might not be the most original of plot ideas, but Stewart breathes new life into this idea, with a refreshing narrative that mixes some nasty characters with an intelligent look at a some weighty issues. GREEN TSUNAMI BY LAURA COONEY AND L.L. SOARES If like me you love post apocalyptic novels then you really must get this book. Intelligent, thought provoking with a strong emotional thread, this highly original book will not fail to deliver the goods. Told in an interesting way through a series of emails between a husband and his wife iGreen Tsunami wonderfully shows that there are more ways than a traditional narrative structure to tell a good story.
