HORROR AUTHOR INTERVIEW : WILLIAM D. PRYSTAUK

12/5/2015
horror fiction review
An award winning screenwriter, filmmaker, and educator, I began writing stories in first grade when I still had hair. The short crime film I produced and directed, CASE #5930 is in post-production, and I hope to direct David McDonald’s horror feature, VINDICTA, next summer. An active member of the New Jersey Screenwriter’s Group, I teach English as an assistant professor at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and my guidebook on business writing will come out later this summer. When not writing, I’m busy co-hosting THE LAST KNOCK horror podcast on iTunes. I enjoy life with my wife, author and editor Ally Bishop, and our two puppies, Suki and Karma. I’m proud of my alternative music and horror movie collections, and the fact that I never leave any sushi behind. The hard-boiled crime thriller, “Bloodletting” is my first novel.

HORROR AUTHOR INTERVIEW - LANCE BARNWELL

4/5/2015
Picture
Moonlight illuminates her porcelain skin
A black domino betwixt forehead and chin

Lance Barnwell’s Dereliction is a triumphant first step into the publishing world. His collection is full of stark and bold dark poetry that ranges from the supernatural, to the future of our world.

Lance cleverly uses ironic rhyming couplets to portray not a love story, but a dark wondering about the world we live in. He asks questions of it and gives an interesting opinion on its answers, provoking involvement and thought from his audience. His couplets are intelligent, not twee, showing a mastery of the craft.

This thrilling collection boldly steps into the world of dark poetry smoothly and effortlessly. He reveals an honest portrayal of dark thoughts, feelings and emotions that the audience can relate to feeling - even if it is not always admitted.

Followers of dark poetry will love Barnwell's collection, but its appeal stretches further than this. The book is also filled with humour, both black and light; all tastes can be found somewhere amongst his words.

With his evocative style, raw emotions and untamed feeling, Barnwell will take you through a journey unlike any other.

An interview with Françoise Pascal

24/4/2015
francoise pascal interview
For the benefit of the younger audience who may be unaware of the work of Françoise Pascal I will begin by making a brief introduction to her career. Françoise Pascal, originally from Mauritius, stood out clearly in the London of the 'Swinging 60s' and soon became a dancer in the British TV show 'Top of the Pops', by the age of 19 she had a first film role in 'Loving Feeling'. From that time on Françoise has had a quite remarkable career on stage, in films and TV on both sides of the pond, acting with the likes of Peter Sellers, Lee Remick, Rex Harrison, Goldie Hawn, Frazer Hines, Barry Evans and Mickey Rooney. In a world in which 'National Treasure' and 'Sex Symbol' are all too often misused I believe I can refer to Françoise Pascal as being both with absolutely no doubt that they apply to this film star and former Penthouse Pin-Up. Her charm, sense of humour, and obvious beauty put her in the forefront of the entertainment industry for decades. Although having a significant body of work on stage and screen she is perhaps best known to UK viewers in her standout role as 'Danielle Favre' in the hit sitcom 'Mind Your Language'.

HORROR INTERVIEW : PAUL SOLET  DIRECTOR  OF DARK SUMMER

22/4/2015
PAUL SOLET DIRECTOR OF DARK SUMMER PicturePAUL SOLET
After receiving a BA in Film and Psychology from Emerson College in 2002, and a certificate in screen writing from the same school in 2003, Solet moved to Los Angeles and began working in production.

He wrote and directed his highly lauded first feature, Grace, in 2008. Following its premiere at Sundance '09, where two men in the audience passed out from the intensity of the film, Grace was the darling of festivals around the globe, including SXSW, Brussels, and Gerardmer, where it won the prestigious Prix du Jury, going on to win many more, including a Vision Award at Toronto After Dark, Best Director at Albuquerque International, and a Best Film nom from Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantastic. Critically, Grace received a caliber of praise practically without precedent within the genre, called, "downright chilling" by Variety, "astonishingly wonderful" by Harry Knowles, "a horrifying meditation" by the Los Angeles Times, and "sweet, queasy perfection" by MTV's Kurt Loder.

Regarded for his intense story savvy as a writer for hire as much as his eye, he has since developed projects for some of the most respected producers and directors in the business at both the studio and independent levels, while continuing to direct both his own and other writers' material.
